Charles “Chuckie” Reddinger, 83 of Springdale, formerly of Sharpsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday March 10, 2023. He was born on January 26,1940 to the late Charles and Doris Reddinger of Sharpsburg. He is survived by his brother, James (Charlotte) Reddinger of Harmar and his sister Catherine (Thomas) Goral of Shaler; his niece Donna Johnston; nephews Thomas (Deborah) Goral, James (Kristy) Reddinger; his niece Kelley (Eric) Szelc; and several great nieces and nephews. Charles served in the US Army from 1960-1964 before dedicating 35 years as a clerk/driver for Galanty’s Hardware in Sharpsburg. He loved collecting and displaying his trains at Christmas time and enjoyed spending time with his mother painting ceramics. He was a proud veteran and enjoyed dining with his brother on Veterans Day at the Sharpsburg VFW. Chuckie was a kind and generous man who helped many people throughout his life. He made friends everywhere he went. Although he never had children of his own, he experienced the joy of being a father and grandfather to his dear friends Brian (April) Francis and their children Brianna, Aiden, and Braden. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. A memorial service will be held in SLATER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC. SHARPSBURG, (412-782-2211), 820 Main Street, Sharpsburg 15215, on Thursday, March 16 from 6-8 p.m.
