Donna Corrado Donovan

    Donna Corrado Donovan, age 81, of Sharpsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Donna was the beloved wife of 64 years to Timothy Donovan, and a loving mother of 4 children; Timothy Jr. (Lynda), Dianne (Matthew) Lutz, Shaun (Connie), and Domenic (Michelle). Donna was the loving grandmother of Timothy III (Emily), Nathanael, Matthew, Briana (Robert) Gonzalez, Robert (Dafne) Stein, Brian (Megan) Stein, Joshua, Shannon, Kyle (Hannah), Evan, and Alaina. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother of 3: Christopher James, Kyle Jr, and Eleanor. Her children and grandchildren were precious to her, and she loved spending time with them and preparing meals for the family to enjoy together. 

Donna was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Michelina and Domenic Corrado, and by her brother John and her sister-in-law Lydia. She is survived by much-loved nieces: Lisa (Fennessy), Michelle (Neal), and her nephew, John, as well as numerous cousins.

Donna was a graduate of Vincentian High School, and worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant, concluding her career as an Office Manager at Carnegie Mellon University’s Office of the CIO.

Donna was an active member of the Christ the King Parish community/Madonna of Jerusalem Church, dedicating her time to serve others as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Teacher of Religious Education (40 yrs.), and Prayer Minister to the Sick and Dying. She also volunteered to assist veterans at the VA Hospital, she ran a Women’s Prayer Group at Madonna, and helped feed the homeless in Pittsburgh, among other loving pursuits. 

She was a true Christian who thought of others before herself on a daily basis. Her deep love for the Lord strengthened her to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world and lead others to Him. May she rest in peace. 

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 26th, from 6-8 PM, and Thursday, June 27th from 2-4, and 6-8 PM at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Sharpsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ The King Parish in St. Joseph Church on Friday, June 28th at 10:30 AM. Internment to follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
