A gift to the world on Christmas Day nearly 100 years ago, Edith (DeBonis) Ferraro, of Ross
Township (formerly of Sharpsburg) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, with
family by her side. Beloved wife of the late John Ferraro; loving mother of Joan Ferraro (Gary
Helf) and John Ferraro (Debbie); devoted grandmother of Kristin Archbold (Jim), Ed Kunzman,
Michael Ferraro and Jessica Ferraro; treasured great-grandmother of Noah and Juliet Archbold,
Jacob Kunzman, and Alexis, Brendan and Bailey O’Malley.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents Emily and Domenic DeBonis; siblings, Nicholas,
Philomena (DeBonis) Mignella, Albert, William, and John as well as her dear friend Charles Violi.
She is survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law Domenic and Patricia DeBonis, her
sister-in-law Mary Ann DeBonis and many loving nieces and nephews.
No words could ever do Edith’s life justice. She loved her children, grand-children, and great-
grandchildren more than anything. She was the center and heart of our family. She was
selfless, strong, faithful, and caring. Her door was always open; her table always had room for
one more chair and her love was unconditional.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Gateway Hospice and Holy Family
Manor for their care and kindness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 28 at 11am at St. Mary’s Church, Christ
the King Parish, 210 Garnier St, Pittsburgh. Arrangements entrusted to WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Sharpsburg. (412-782-2211).
Edith joyfully fed anyone who came to her home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to No Kid Hungry www.nokidhungry.org.
