Of Sharpsburg, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 27, 1935, to Joseph and Stella Kolc, Joseph "Joe" Kolc, 89, was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of faith and loved by all who knew him.
Joe's greatest accomplishment was the family he created with Elaine (Santalucia) Kolc, his devoted wife of 68 years. He was preceded by his father, mother, and sister Loretta "Sister Mary David" Kolc, and his infant son. He is survived by Elaine and their three children, Joseph "Joey," Kathy (Tom), Lisa (Craig). He was also "Pappy" to five grandchildren; Justin, Megan (Garrett), Matthew (Kayla), Kristine, Katie (Zach) and great-grandchild, Elise. He also leaves behind his Brother-In-Law, Frank (Suzanne) Santalucia, nephews David (Lynne) Santalucia, Rev. Jason (Daisy) Santalucia and their families. Also, many cousins and friends.
Joe was a passionate and devoted fisherman and hunter, and coached in Special Olympics. Although he retired from a career with Port Authority, his heart was always with the Special Olympics where he impacted hundreds of lives. He was also a member of the school board for Sharpsburg, Fox Chapel, and Beatty Technical school districts. Joe was a friend to everyone he met. He loved spending his time fishing with Joey and holidays with family.
