Madelin Grace Clements (Booth)

October 20, 1934 — October 22, 2022

Cranberry

Age 88, of Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community, Cranberry Township. Madelin was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Elinor Booth; husband John Clements, Jr.; and her husband and soulmate Ace Connor. She is survived by stepsons Tom, Ken, and Keith and their families. Madelin was born and raised in Castle Shannon, graduated from Slippery Rock University, twice, with a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Reading. She also earned an MS in Education from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She had a long career as an elementary teacher and administrator. Madelin retired as the elementary program supervisor for the North Allegheny School District. Her very active retirement schedule included volunteering as a theater usher, library aide, hospital patient ambassador, and Science Center information desk specialist. At Sherwood Oaks, Madelin served on or chaired many committees. She inaugurated the Drama Club and absolutely loved writing a column for the community's monthly publication, "The Acorn". That effort entitled, "Did You Know..." was written under the nom de plume "Miss Tree". It featured news about Sherwood residents as observed by the writer known for wearing a red feather boa. Madelin enjoyed friendships with her early classmates, those she met in college and grad school, colleagues in her career, and her church families at Christ UMC in Bethel Park and St. Paul's UMC in Hampton. She was grateful for the support of Ace's children and grandchildren. She cherished the residents and staff at Sherwood Oaks and loved her years in that community. She was devoted to Molly, her sweet cat, for her love and companionship after Ace died. Most of all she looked forward to spending eternity with her beloved Ace and was sure they would decorate heaven with pink flamingos. Memorial gifts may be made to the Madelin Booth Clements Scholarship Fund, Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA 16057. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Sharpsburg. (412-782-2211).
