Rita T. Walker

On Monday, January 22, 2024, age 88, of Sharpsburg. Daughter of the late Anton Turnshek and Elizabeth Beatty. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Walker, her husband of 51 years. Loving mother of Dean Walker (Jennifer), and Grant Walker (Terri). Grandmother of Juliette, Annastasia, and Elizabeth Walker. Sister-in-law of the late MaryLee and Pete Duschl. Also survived by her special niece Lori Petote (Carmen), her nephew Jeff Duschl, her great nephews Dominic and Nolan Petote, her dear friend Georgene Marko, and her best friend of 80 years, Bernadine Ralph. Rita graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Albany Medical College. She also served in the US Army as an officer and worked as a Nurse Anesthetist at Allegheny General Hospital. She was a generous, one-of-a-kind trailblazer that was loved by all who knew her. Her family extends their thanks to the VA Medical Center, John Heinz Campus for taking such good care of her and their support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ The King Parish in Madonna of Jerusalem Church on Friday at 10am.
