Robert J. "Bob" Amiano

Robert (Bob) J. Amiano, 88, of O’Hara Township, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 11, 1937 in Sharpsburg, the son of the late Robert J. Amiano, Sr. and Mary R. Martier.

He married the love of his life, Arlene Weber on July 30, 1960, and together they built a life filled with love, family and laughter. Bob served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. Bob was employed by O’Hara Township for 32 years, known for his work as their Union Steward. After retiring, he worked at Jack's Pizza in Dorseyville for another 18 years.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his son, Bob Amiano and his wife Lisa of Lewes, DE; his son David Amiano and his wife Paula of Bristol, WV; a daughter Michelle Alberts and her husband Rick of Dravosburg, Pa; granddaughters, Rachel Bates (Taylor), Lauren Kilduff (John), Natalie Amiano (fiancée Walker) and Marissa Alberts; three great-grandsons, Caden Bates, Elliot Kilduff and Jesse Bates. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his sister, Marilyn Strate.

Bob was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and passion for music. In the 1950's Bob was a member of the Pittsburgh Rockets Drum & Bugle Corps. In the late 1970's and early 1980's he got the itch again and marched in parades for the Cadets and the Ambassadors. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed camping for years with his family. He was happiest spending time with his family.

Friends and family received from 4-8 pm this Friday at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Sharpsburg, 820 Main Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday at Christ The King Parish in Madonna of Jerusalem Church, 220 9th Street, Sharpsburg, PA 15215 with a Celebration of Life immediately following at Parkview Firehall, 726 Midway Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
