Robert Joseph Cunningham passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. He was the youngest child of the late George and Helen Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, John, and Jeff Cunningham. He is survived by his sisters, Linda Stroyne (Jim) and Sister Karen Cunningham. He is also survived by two nieces, Jennifer Fransway and Michelle Harrison, and a great niece and nephews. After graduating from high school, Bob drove across the country to enlist in the military. During his two tours of duty, he became an expert marksman, learned demolition work, and performed guard duty. He was stationed in several states and spent two years in Okinawa, Japan. When he decided to leave the armed forces, Bob was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time in the service, he attended Robert Morris College earning a degree in Business Administration. He then worked with his friend as a partner in a Safety Technology company. Five years ago, Bob started to become forgetful. He remained in his home where he enjoyed spending time with his cat. Bob was a good and faithful man of God. He had a great sense of humor and was very social, generous, and helpful. Bob frequently went to daily Mass. He prayed the rosary and attended Eucharist adoration at a local church. Bob now lives in harmony with his Creator God and has no worries. We miss you, Bob, and we love you! Friends received 2-4 pm at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Sharpsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Matthew Parish in All Saints Church on Monday at 10 am.
